The Populars: Prolouge

Prolouge: Aimee
At Silver Hieghts Middle School nerves fluttered in my stomach. What if I messed up? What if I made a complete fool of myself in front of EVERYONE? What if.............? I couldn't help but wonder as I took the darkened stage. What would happen when the sweet sound of music took over my soul? I guess it was too soon to tell. I drew in a deep breath as the curtain opened and the people clapped. I suddenly flickered on and I knew that was my cue. Music filled the room bouncing off walls and windows. Every person seemed happy to hear the sweet sound I knew I was capable of making.
Then the drums sounded and I knew it was my turn to stop. I glanced at my best friend Terri on trumpet still blowing away, and my other best friend Carson on drums. As he was beating he managed a brief smile right at me. He's a great friend. He had to be nervous, I mean, he was completely pale, but color flooded back through his veins as I shot a smile back at him.

Now it was the flute solo and I was back on. Everyone stared at us and I knew they had to be having a good time. The sound of flutes finally blended with the sounds of the other instruments, as everyone else joined back in. Finally we all stopped with an exception for the drums who finished us off with Rum-Tum-Tum-Bam!

I leaped up and bowed. I was glad to be done with 6th grade but also sad, because now that I was done I couldn't see my friends again - ever. We were moving to Virginia. Since we currently lived in Texas this was going to be a big adaption. But I was up for any change that came my way. Even one as big as this. One that could change my life.
